Famous footballer and his family got robbed at home

Roma defender Chris Smalling and his family were victims of an equipped theft at their home early on Friday. The theft took place at the former Manchester United center-back's home in southern Rome, with extravagant watches and jewelry taken.

Smalling was constrained to hand the things over to three equipped men before they cleared out the house. Police, who were called to the house at 5 am local time, are examining the incident, in which no one was hurt.

Smalling is understood to be stunned by the incident but is presently calm after the circumstance was brought under control. On Thursday evening, the defender observed from the sidelines with a knee injury as Roma secured a Europa League quarter-final total win over Ajax.

Smalling, who earned the last of his 31 England caps in June 2017, joined Roma in October 2020 on a permanent bargain, having spent the past season on loan. He said how settled he and his family felt within the Italian capital.
