British Judo is investigating a number of cases in which coaches have been arrested for sexual offenses. The cases include one coach who was captured for engaging in sexual communications with a child.
In a separate case, another was captured for voyeurism at a place of work after putting a camera in female toilets. In articulation, the governing body said it was unable to comment on active investigations.
British Judo said that since it is part of the ongoing investigation, it is unable to comment assist until the total findings of the investigation are published. A national sexual violence and safeguarding organization also notes that it was vague, whether staff who make up the Area Boards have the essential abilities and knowledge to play and part in conveying safeguarding.
The report uncovers that there were 100 defending cases reported to the British Judo Association in 2017, followed by 69 in 2018 and 54 within the first nine months of 2019. British athletes have won 18 Olympic medals since judo was included in the 1964 Games.
