The Sports Tribunal of New Zealand has banned wrestler Madhi Namdari from all sports for three years for taking steroids. His anti-doping infractions were found after an out-of-competition test in March 2021 revealed a positive result for Stanozolol, which was further verified by a B-sample test.
Stanozolol is always forbidden in sports. Despite the fact that it has major potential adverse effects, including significant liver damage, Stanozolol is used in boosting to enhance muscle growth and strength.
Mr. Namdari, a seasoned athlete, had been a Tokyo Olympic contender before Covid-related setbacks and an injury knocked him out. Athletes seeking to dope will be detected, according to Nick Paterson, Chief Executive of Drug-Free Sport New Zealand.
Because of Covid lockdowns, NZ executives were unable to test athletes at times, just like they are now in Auckland. Athletes who are tempted to use shortcuts to win because they believe nobody is watching or checking should reconsider.
