Pakistan blocks all social media

Pakistan has temporarily blocked a few social media services within the South Asian country. The order is titled “Complete Blocking of Social Media Platforms."

The Pakistani government requested Pakistan Telecommunication Specialist to block social media platforms counting Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, and Telegram from 11 am to 3 pm local time Friday. The move comes as Pakistan looks to crackdown against a rough terrorist group.

They anticipate troublemakers from disturbing Friday prayer assemblies taking after days of savage protests. Prior to this week, Pakistan prohibited the Islamist group Tehrik-i-Labaik Pakistan after capturing its leader, which provoked protests.

Pakistan has explored ways to undertake more control over substance on digital services working within the nation in recent years. A few activists said the nation was taking extraordinary measures without much clarifications.
