10-year-old child killed in New York City drive-by shooting

The shooting occurred following an argument with a neighbor, sources said. A 10-year-old kid was killed and a man in his late 20s injured after somebody started shooting in a Queens neighborhood late Saturday night, police said. As indicated by the NYPD, the kid and a 29-year-elderly person were entering a home on Beach 45th Street in Far Rockaway when shots were discharged. The 10-year-old was hit in the chest and articulated dead at the scene.

The man, who lives at that location, was hit in the shoulder and was required to get by, as per the sources.

The gunfire emitted following a prior contention with a neighbor, sources said.

Jacob — a neighbor who didn’t give his last name to The Post — said his family was having a picnic around the bend when the shooting began.

“They saw a person pull up in a vehicle and begin contending. They said somebody went into the house. After that they were contending,” Jacob said.
