It’s possible that TikTok, the widely popular short-form video app, will add 24-hour “stories” to its interface in the very near future. A small beta test of TikTok Stories has begun in a number of countries outside the United States.
This may or may not be a permanent feature of the site. TikTok Stories expire 24 hours after they are posted, similar to “stories” on social media platforms like Snapchat and Instagram.
First appearing on Snapchat, story-style content has since been copied by other platforms, including Instagram and Facebook. TikTok’s short-form video-sharing interface, on the other hand, has been adapted by several social media platforms since its popularity exploded in 2011.
