TikTok announced today that they will add automatically generated subtitles to make the app more accessible. Users will be able to read and listen to the content that they are watching.
There will be an option for the creators of the content upon uploading their recordings. They can choose to edit the text of the generated subtitle in case there is some inaccuracy.
This feature will be available in American English and Japanese. Other support languages will then follow.
There are more other features introduced in the application to increase its accessibility. These are the animated thumbnails, warnings to creators that their video effects could trigger sensitivity, and a text-to-speech feature.
